I bought my 2.5 V6 CD back in Jan and it's not had a problem free week since then - oil leak and coolant loss, both eventually sorted. Then I got the little exploding rubber pipes (see previous post) which after 3 replacements has been sorted by a new driver's side exhaust system.
So today I am confused to find the following symptoms;
- first time start and smooth tickover at 500 rpm
- crisp, clean acceleration at all speeds
- no dashboard warning lights
- better fuel economy than previous.
In summary, a pleasurable, stress-free drive to work.
I'm baffled! Can anyone advise please?

This is not normal for your car. You need to break it quickly, so I advise either hacking through the main loom with a pair of bolt croppers, or mixing the plug leads around a bit. For real fun, chuck a tankful of diesel in it. Not in the fuel tank, just inside the cabin. ;D

give it to me and ill break it for you, or check out the vauxhall owners website under the omega section some kid borrowed his old mans 3 ltr mv6 and on his mates say so put cooking oil in the fuel tank because his mate said it would run on it, then the silly sod drained the oil by removing the oil filter and tryed to drain the fuel system and turned the engine over and basically wrecked his old mans motor, so you could give it to him
