:'(
morning guys, just joined again as forgotten old login, was opel400 or ascona 400 or something like that, anyway, had no problems for about a year then this morning came to fit roof rack. front passenger door would not open. Have tried with fob, and key in frivers door but no joy. Aha just open from the inside, nope that would not work either. Having removed a door card before I know that the door needs to be open to get at some of the screws. Have managed to loosen it a bit so I can partially see mechanism, but I am now stuck (the same as the door) as to now do. tried pulling some of the internal bits but no joy.
Just what you want on a bank holiday weekend - any diy ideas, car is 1998 2.5 refelction saloon, all work done myself as not worth spending at garage anymore due to age value etc etc.
thanks in anticipation

;D sorted,
ended up leaving it for a day. came back to it and the door opened, so I have taken door card off and will change the solenoid thing.
Live in leafy surburbia so have not locked vehicle until I undertake the change of part, however have immobilised vehicle.
ok whilst I am on, anyone got any ideas as to why sunroof occasionally decides to open itself?
It does have its funny side though, in the snow this year, wife was out in car and sunroof decided to open and dropped a ruck on her, fantastic, should have been in sketch show that one, however since then she has pestered me to sort it, so I suppose I should do something about it
Any ideas?

Reset the sunroof by pushing in the contoller and holding it for 3 or so seconds. Then turn in to the fully open position (do this when it is not raining!) and hold in again. Now close and sunroof should be reset. :)
