Title: Dash Lamp Bulbs
Post by: ians on 30 May 2007, 15:58:01
Can anyone advise which lamp bulbs (the 2W push fit ones x3) are used behind the instruments (speedo etc).

Is it these?

I don't think that thay are the ones, when I took my dash out to fix the TID, the bulbs had a flat peace at the bottom with two prongs that make a contact when you twist in, I got mine in Halfords for the TID (509T) but the ones behind the clocks are bigger in size and are green.

I need to do the passenger climate bulb too ;D

may just leave that though, you have to take out the radio and cage and ram your hand up behind to pull or push a lever  :o

Indeed you do!  Did that at the weekend.  There are a few gotchas along the way which I'll happily helpout with when you do it.

How is it getting the instrument panel out?  The electrical connector sounds a bit odd.

Hi,
I think you'll find that the bulb in the picture is in it's yellow holder and pulls out and is a type 501,(looks like an old flash bulb) :).

 Hope this helps,
                       Pete :y.

Brilliant thanks LK.  Was that from a dealer?  How much (I'm expecting pennies for a 501 style)
Were there three of them in the panel?

Cheers
Ian
BTW the sealant has worked brill - ta!

You'd think dealers would have these aplenty.

Climate panel bulbs (you need 5 of them)
' oh we've got 3, and I can see there is another one in Newbury....' >:(
