Yea, what is that, looks like some sort of air valve, is it off your car.
No doubt someone on here will know.

yeah it of my v6 its attached to the back of the cooling fan and the pipes of either side only have air in them cheers

It is part of the secondary air injection system. Woks for 2 mins or less on start up to heat up the cats.

This system pumps air into the exhaust manifolds when the engine is cold, to help ignite any unburnt fuel, hence heating up the cats faster, and hence reducing emissions on startup.

Performance wise, does bugger all - guess it might help the longevity of the cats by a fraction.

Of course, mine isn't unplugged  ::)
