Title: mv6 no spark
Post by: mv6knackered on 05 June 2007, 16:50:07
how's it going dudes, total newbie here with a bit of a problem and i'm hoping your vast pool of knowledge could help me solve it.

i have an mv6 which has lost it's spark on the left hand cylinder near the rad. i checked the lead with a replacment and it's not that (or the plug). i'm lead to believe the coil pack fires in pairs which is why it's confusing as the other 5 seem to work ok? (which cylinder is that one paired with?)

any ideas would be welcome as it's a pain in the @rse to get the DIS pack out (which is what i'd try next)

cheers all   :y

So it sounds like front left as in number 1 cylinder which is paired with number 4 (its 1-4, 2-5, 3-6)....

Although they are in pairs, if the secondary side of number 4 was to short to 0V (chassis) then you would loose just the one plug.

no. 4 is middle plug on nearside bank (assuming you are in the UK!!).
