Still can't get to it - really peeed off now, really annoying - my hands are too big!!!!
-
Which bolt is it ?. if all else fails a hammer and chisel !
-
Coolant Transfer Pipe :(
-
I have looked at this bolt a lot and cannot see the problem really. To make it easy martin, syphon out the PAS reservoir and remove the hose then you get good acess to it.

PM repled to mate, I'll get over as soon as I feasibly can
This bolt is reasonably easy with the PAS tank right out the way... the PAS pipe is a big hinderance...

Thats the bugger but I can't get in there to do it.
As a model builder I can handle fiddly jobs but this is a right bugger.
As to one of your hates, if you want any discs done you know where I live, you hate doing them but I don't mind - that said I always get muddled on the rear shoes and do them the wrong way first, (been doing this since the Carlton)

I had the same issue with DIS packs as well

I remember you commenting you hated brakes

Martin,
I have yet to do this job, but I did manage to get a spanner (10mm ring) on the bolt. The spanner was horizontal pointing backwards towards the bulkhead. I managed to get the fingers of my other hand on the head of the bolt to guide the spanner on and hold it there. (Hope that makes some kind of sense..).
I know Chris (Clarce) used a ratchet spanner - I can see that would help as you don't have much room to swing the spanner.
Cheers
Ian

When I tried a spanner it would not grip. :(

is the bold still intact or has it been rounded off?
Sounds like moving the power steering reservoir is the next stop.

I don't mind working on brakes at all - as long as it's on my own car. At this stage - I have a policy not to touch other people's brakes - just in case ::) ::)

I'm quite happy to do that - done so many in the past I'm used to it.

Not sure, might be my spanners, moved the reservior - still no room.

Had the same trouble for about 2 hours today in the end had to visit Halfords and buy E12 ring spanner.
Once I worked out angle of bolt with mirror 1/2 a turn with spannerfrom back of engine came out with fingers now jusegot to get it back together.

One of several useful pics taken by me when stripping down my old V6 engine last weekend. Hope this helps.
