The Elite has developed a stalling problem - only today. When it's warm, and ticking over, the engine will suddenly "die". no splutter, no cough etc or misfire, just dies. Then fires straight up again on the first turn - and then dies again after a few seconds ticking over.
Doesn't seem to do it when in D waiting at lights etc, just when in P or N ticking over.
No EML when engine running, but I've flashed out the codes, and I've got a "19" - which as we know means "crank sensor fubared!"
Other codes include 144 - No immobiliser signal recived, and 135 - 'Check engine' lamp (fault code lamp).
I've got a spare known good crank sensor in the boot - guess I should fit it ::)

Well you could always wait a while James.
You reckoned you could fit one by the side of the road somewhere! ;)
Oh, and time yourself...

Any chance of a photo of the crank sensor cable route once fitted please? I have one to do, I'm aware from other posts that I shouldn't use the original routing, but I'm not sure exactly where I should be routing the cable.
Thanks Pat
(sorry if that adds 30 seconds to you time ;) )

Basically just make sure the cable is away from the exhaust and has a little bit of slack in it.

... sounds very familiar to my gold miggy ... first time it died was when I came off the accelerator driving along a tunnel ... wouldn't restart straight away but did a minute or two later. Then I'd have the engine idling whilst checking plugs etc. and it'd stall with me not even touching anything - so personally I'd be replacing it ASAP :)
