Title: Anti roll bar drop links

I live in an area that is over developed with speed humps and potholes and now have an increasing rattle/clunk on the drivers side when negotiating these council produced answers to common sense.  Is there a preferred option or outlet to purchase droplinks, either GM original or pattern from wherever?  I know there are several sellers on e-bay but looking for tips as regards price/robustness/delivery.  

Experience has taught me that buying cheap sometimes means paying dear in the longer term but, as these items are relatively cheap, looking for the bestest option.

Buy the patern ones. I use FAI and they have been fine. They take 10 minutes a side to change. SOAK the nuts overnight to make it easier. You will need 18mm socket to take nuts off, 19mm to put new bigger ones on and a 17mm spanner to locke the bolts. Easy job, not worth messing about with origianl parts.

The symptons are drop links. Difference is immediate when done.

Cheers Fin.  Know the symptoms, done them a few times on various bigger VX's over the years, just looking to get the best bang per buck, as it were......  Will track FAI on e-bay and get a flavour.  What price at a factors, roughly?   ;)

I pay around £11 each at my motor factors, so I would go with those.

I have noticed a knock from the front only when going over sharp bumps like kerbs etc.

I have had a look underneath but can not find any play anywhere.

Do these show any visible signs when they have gone or is it just the knocking.

Other than kerbs it handles well with not other noises even when pushed.

Best way I have found to tell if they are rubber ducked is driving along a road with a few small humps, lumps and potholes.  You get an intermittant knock which is heard/felt from the front and sometimes through the steering in time with the noise.  Given the ease and price of changing, would do them before going the wishbone route....

Yep, fair price broocie. Drop links are usually the fault. Thought it was these on my corsa though and it now looks like track rod ends on that. Oh good, I just bought wishbones for £70 too.

i find the drop links don't last that long with the roads and speed bumps in my area ,my last pair only lasted 3 years,fitted new ones but were only £9 each and only ten minutes to change,so not to bad :y :y :y

are there drop links on the front and rear? as im sure i have that type of noise from the N/S rear. and where can i buy FAI branded droplinks?

Yes there are drop links on the rear, never seen one fail though....
