If it's a manual it will be ex-plod as only auto's sold to retail.  What spec is it MV6, Elite or "unknown" - points to ex-plod too.  What colour is it? What is the mileage and history?

High miles should not be a major worry as long as it's been maintained properly.

Let's have the rest of the details and the guesswork can start  :y

would an ex-plod be fully loaded with leather?

offer him £1800, if he takes, you might well have a bargain, unless stuff needs doing to it

its apparently an elite , 150,000 miles it does sound sweet as for history i have no idea at the minute , its auto and he says its not ex plod...i'm going have a better look at it in daylight in the next couple of days so i could do with somekind of price range ( subject to everything being ok) a low and high range would do me for now, it has 6 months mot at present,

It could have been fiddled with, leather is easily added.

150k miles is high for a 2002, 30k a year is a lot on a car. Unless it goes for silly money, around £1,500 then go for it.

With that millage, i personally would pay no more than 2k

The CID (colour display) was always an optional extra. Early facelift Elites had no sat nav, full MID like CD/CDX/MV6, later facelifts had the thinner GID which had the sat nav built in.

ex-plods will be basic spec, no rear blind, no bose, lots of holes in the dash, plain black dash inserts, 150mph speedo instead of 160, and manual rear windows

some minor holes in the dash from police toys, less extras, such as keep fit rear windows, usually not leather, and 3.2 manual would be plod

also they tend to change the wheels

Standard and simplest giveaway is the speedo.....

Will have a white/black sticker beneath the odometer saying 'calibrated by IRS Nottingham' with a serial number.  Speedo will go up in 2 mph increments rather than the standard 5's and stop at 150 or so.

Unless the dash has been changed, then its back to your nose and instinct.......

To save confusion, it was the stereo that had the SatNav, not the display...
