I am planning to replace my cam belt as is it due soon, according to the engine number, the cam belt to be used is 9201887. However, when sourcing out the required belt another model was suggested (93188674)
When contacting the dealer i was told that 9201887 is the correct one but the price advised was double that of the 93188674.
What is the technical difference between these two and is it possible to insall the cheaper one(93188674)?
We are looking at a price difference of 100 pounds
I appreciate your advice :)

Hmmm, someone with the information on the part numbers (Markjay? ;)) will be of assistance here, as I am at work. :(
I suspect the difference of that value is between the belt alone ( :o) and the full kit ( :y)
DO NOT JUST CHANGE THE BELT!!!
In fact, before attempting this job, get the DVD (£3 from Robin Hood http://shop.omegaowners.com) and make sure you have access to a locking kit and a 30mm offset ring spanner.

What engine and engine number do you have? If its the V6 I think there are three different ones depending on engine number.
Is this Vx parts that are quoting you? Maybe worth finding some one on here close to you (where are you?) with a trade card.
As well as the kit you should also think about the water pump at the same time - should cost £25 or so.
Cheers,
Ian

I think he's in Saudi Arabia.

Ah that might be a challenge then..

thanks for the input guys.. im actually in the United Arab Emirates if anyone heard of it =P
i checked with the dealership and he wants (after currency conversion) approximately 200 GBP.. searched in the local market for the particular kit (09201887) and got a hold of one for about 120 GBP. so i just baught it..
Kit included belt, tensioner, pulley, 4 bolts and a small round metallic peice. Cuz of the 80 GBP difference im doubting it might be missing something, unless the dealer is just soo much more expensive.
By the way.. for the Omegas here in UAE many people tend to use parts from a brand called DEPLHI.. any ideas of how reliable these are?
Got the Pump and will be doing it along with the cam belt.

Delphi is the parts arm of General Motors.
I'm not sure what the round metallic piece is (or was that your change.. ;D) - the rest sounds correct to me.
-
The huge metal washer is a spacer for one of the pulleys.
