Title: Vacuum pipe on top of HBV on 2.2 facelift.
Post by: DaveL on 26 June 2007, 20:59:46
Just been cleaning around the engine on my 2.2 petrol Mega. Found that the vacuum pipe to the HBV although connected to the top of the valve is not fitted to any where else. Have tried moving the pipe about to see if it fits but cannot for the life of me see.  :-[

Put me out of my misery and tell me please. :'( :'(

It should connect to a small rubber stub sticking out between the two heater pipes where they pass through the bulkhead. Its very tight for access there, check with a torch and mirror.
It is much easier if you pop one of the heater hoses off.

Thanks for the reply,I have one thin pipe already going to a rubber stub near the top pipe.

This in turn goes across to the right hand bulkhead. Cannot see where this small pipe would fit.

Even looked for a similar point on the bottom hose to see if this short pipe would go there. So unless there is another point or both vacuum pipes go in there then ..... :question

Its the pipe on the right which is slightly obscured by the clutch pipe..
