Japanese contorsionism whilst juggling a chainsaw, medicine ball and an egg whilst wearing a pink leotard and chewing a razorblad dressed with peanut butter?
No?
How about, underwater triffle syphoning using only the internal organs of a south american warthog?
Closer?
Right. Got it. Whalebird skinning and rabbit jousting, backwards with a pitch fork and marmite. At the same time as deadbat frying in dog juice with a hint of lampthread?
Go on than. What is it?
NURSE????? I need help!!!!

I am going with Loo Knee and Hotel21, and saying Bricklaying, 'cause I seem to remember you mentioning wanting to do this several months ago. Me, I'm doing a training course in getting plastered !. I bought a DVD from Ebay (turned out to be a copy :'() and have a whole room to practise on, before I give up and call in the professionals. :y
-
Yup....its bricklaying.....something I can do but, dont realy know the techniques and I bugger around with each brick to much so it takes me ages....
Then its on with Mrs DTM's extension number 2....and this time I shall do everything but the plastering.
-
Well if you ever meet John Prescott you'll have something to chat about ;D
Well done Mark, I admire people who can actually do things with their hands, I struggle just with keeping the Omega in shape... :(

Or seen him play football ::)

Ha ha.....
Went well tonight.....we had to build a basic pyramid wall with a five brick base and only using your eye.....which a few of us finished in 20 minutes so it progressed to an 8 course high wall with two returns...
I REALY enjoyed it!
And for next year I have enrolled on the porn star course.... ::)
-
I don't think I'll be going onto the porn sites search for "Marks DTM Calib"... ...nothing personal you understand ;D
Seriously, well done of the course - my step grandad used to be a brickie, and I used to help him lay many a brick. Its one of those skills though, that you always keep, but speed slows if you haven't done it for a while - I spent ages doing a small wall in the back garden (that was using large Cotswold Stone blocks as well)
-
Solid bricks are harder to lay than the modern ones with frogs or holes....

Thats the easy bit ;)
I had a go on a wall once......15mins to whack the plaster on, let it dry and then 2hrs with a power sander to get it flat :y ;D
-
There seems to be a lack of tradesmen nowadays so good on ya! I'd like to learn dry stone walling.
As you know i travel in my work so see plenty, dunno, just something about the way they're put together makes me want to have a go 8-)
-
I thought the first lesson was how to do " (sharp intake of breath) I haven't seen one as bad as that for a long time, Missis, its going to be expensive". At least most Brickies I ask say that !

There are 6 stages to plastering,
1. Apply the plaster. have a tea break.
2. Go over it with a dry float. Have a tea break.
3. Go over it with a wet trowel, mentioning "thats coming along nicely". have a tea break.
4. Go over it again with a dry trowel. have a tea and biscuit break.
5. Final go over, mentioning things like "well the wall ain't dry enough, there must be rising damp to make it go that bad.
6. Present bill, say "it will be all right once it dries in a couple of weeks".
Cheers Ken
