Title: Fault Codes
Post by: Tony1608 on 01 July 2007, 14:03:34
Hi,
I would love to know if anyone has had experience of the following fault codes and what the eventual diagnosis was.
The enginge management light is on at the moment and if i take it to a vauxhall garage they can reset it at a cost of £45 a time and it may stay off for an hour or 2 weeks before it eventually comes on again. Originally they diagnosed it as the O2 sensor and charged me £200 to replace it only for the light to come back on half hour later. They retested it and said the sensor was working fine but the reading still said ' O2 sensor, no activity detected'. There are 2 other fault codes also displayed which are PO170 (2) Lean exhaust and P1700 (0) SVS REQUEST VIA CAN.
Vauxhall want £70 an hour to try and find where the fault is and it could take them half the day just to locate it before even carrying out any work.
Is there any way i can reset the management light myself on the 2001 Omega 2.2 automatic cdx ?

When the fault is fixed, the light will go out ;)

Worth checking the continuity of the wiring to the o2 sensor.  IIRC, there are 2 on 2.2, which one it is, and did those pillocks change the right one?
