Title: Sunroof knob
Post by: megaomega123 on 02 July 2007, 16:23:36
When I got my car, the sunroof knob kept falling off, so I thought that super glue would do the trick. It has worked a treat and never fallen off since.

A few months ago the car developed an annoying rattle. After much investigation I pinpointed it to the sunroof mechanism. Having had a look, the black plastic casing around the pcb had somehow come apart slightly. It has 2 broken clips, not a problem, fixed all that and the noise has gone. Only problem is I cant get it screwed back into place without removing the knob, which is super glued :'( :'(

Any ideas on how to remove the knob?  Smart remarks and word play are not required :D

you could always snap it off and re-superglue it back together - at least you'll know that superglue works before you start.

It's solid. Tried a bit of levering but it is so flimsy it will probably break before it comes off.

yep go to scrapper under pretence of looking for something else, then when no one is looking pull your knob off and stick it in your pocket....

I went for the 2 holes option. All back together, no rattles and sunroof works. The only thing I managed to break was the light. I think I prefer no light to a constant rattle.
