Title: Heater Problem / Coolant Loss - HBV?
Post by: DJ Pete on 04 July 2007, 11:00:33
I seem to be losing coolant intermittently, sometimes none for a week, then the expansion tank can be empty after a 10 minute journey.

Also, with the aircon off and the heater controls set to cool, the air coming out of the vents is still fairly warm - warmer than ambient temperature.

Is this likely to be the HBV?

Thanks in advance.

Pete.

Lucky you! It's about to P!$$ down here... For a change!  ;)

Edited to say: I guess if the weather is borderline "A/C plus heater" and "A/C without heater", as it has been here on the occasions when it hasn't been "bilge pumps flat out", then HBVs are likely to be exercised a little more than usual and the weak ones will let go.
