Title: Power steering fluid

Hello could anyone tell me the type of fluid to use in the power steering resevoir I have looked through the handbook and the Haynes manual and either I am being really thick  ;) but I can not find a reference to the type used

I think Dexron 3 is the most suitable (also used in the auto box).

Thanks for that just so happens I have some of that, Is there a reference to it in the handbook or haynes do you know I really could not see it mentioned the hand book tells you were it is but not what goes in it

Its Dexron 2 thats used

vauxhall changed their minds and decided Dexron 3 was bad for plastics or something like that

Vx specify Dexron II now, as their newer Dexron III's were causing issues.

Yes, agreed. I did some checking and can confirm that it should be Dexron 2 for PAS. As you say, seems to be a Vauxhall thing.

Bugger just my luck good job  I did not put in the 111 then I will have to go and get some 11 now thanks every one

what would happen if the different types were mixed ? and how can you tell which is in the system already ?
