Title: Oil Cooler??
Post by: benjamind on 14 July 2007, 10:28:24
I think i know the answer but just after a bit of confirmation;- Car is losing about 1 litre of coolant every 3 weeks or so, i doubt it will be the HBV as JamesV6 changed this approx 2 months ago. Also car seems a bit hot when walking past drivers side after a decent run, but temp gauge remains between 94-97 ish. Any suggestions please??

PS James you may need to get your tool kit ready again.

Looks like I may be coming up to manchester for a days consultancy again ;D

Is there any sign of gunge in the coolant tank, or in the dipstick...

and obvious drips on the floor?

Could be the cooler plate, coolant bridge seals, thermostat housing, front / rear transfer pipe.....

Unlikely to be oil cooler failure.  Depending on where leak coming from should help pinpoint...
