My pc died this morning :( it would not boot up or anything :'( i rang a lad who helped me get rid of a virus last year he came and had a look an told me that my motherboard had decided to fry its self he took it out an showed me it :'( :'( then it got worse i`m looking at £100 upwards for a decent motherboard an possibly other items required to get it up an running again :'( :'( so for now i`m using the missus laptop whilst i decide which way i wanna go with this... i might just junk the pc and get a 2nd hand pc outa the bargain pages as there is no way i can afford a new pc i had a look at em this morning at pc world and comet... :'( :'( :'( never rains but it pours does`nt

Never mind, there are lots of good deals out there. Why not consider a laptop? I got a slightly damaged one ( Lid cracked) for £125. It has an Athlon 64, DVD writer etc. Plus Laptops take a lot less power than PC's so the electricity bill will go down!. My Athlon 2G machine/monitor takes about 375watts, a celeron 1.5G laptop less than 60Watts. :y

i wouldnt go second hand while you can get dirt cheap brand new with a warranty, unless you have specific needs that require better than bog standard

i aint got no specific needs i only tat about an play games and chat with you guys..only prob i got is money..i`m still waiting to hear if ive got a job to go back too at comet... >:(

Strangely enough, our old server is dead as well :'( - I knew it wouldn't take another reboot. (Shame I need to get it back up to remove AD from it)

have a look on the PC base units section of the bigpockets website (http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/cat.php?search=Base+Units) - they have a few base units there, even complete systems - it depends on how demanding the games are that you want to play as to whether those systems are suitable ...
