Hi
End of August I'm going to have to replace Front Discs and Pads - discs are looking decidedly thin :( .. looking for advice on the best source of parts - don't want cheap rubbish that only last 2 weeks, neither do I need high performance Brands Hatch/Silverstone stuff, just bits that work well and last .. :)
Don't have a trade card .. any advice gratefully recieved
1999 V plate (mini-facelift I think) Elite 2.5

Hi Entwood
I fitted Mintex discs and pads to my previous Omega and thought they were good until I put genuine Vauxhall ones on my existing Omega. Is there anyone local to you with a trade card as genuine only work out at just over £100 for the discs and pads

Taxi Driver lives in Swindon and has a trade card.

I also have a TC and would be glad to pick up the parts for you. I will be traveling to Wales late August so would be ideally placed to deliver if you wish.........

If you live in Swindon you could always give Motaquip a ring they can get mintex pads and discs not sure how much they will be but you could give them a try. i work for a motor factors and we deliver to them every day twice a day. The van leaves at 7.30 am and 1.30 pm week days 9.30 on Saturday. Mintex are good quality depends on how you drive, if you drive like Ngel Manseel any pads and discs won't last long but if you drive like miss Daisy then they will last longer plus they could be cheaper than VX.

TBH, for normal use, I think the genuine parts are ideal. I've had issues with cheaper Mintex rubbish before on previous cars, so will not use them. On Omega, those regulars will know that pattern parts have caused me no end of grief.
Get genuine on TC, remember to get the sensors as well if you have a MID

Thanks for the advice .. looks like genuine Vx parts then .. we get back from France 20th Aug... so it will be sometime after then .. :)
I'll be scrounging the use of a TC then !!!! :)
