My Facelift Elite LPG project?
Things are going well at work, and i will soon be put on-call, so i need to be closer to the office.
So i am moving to London! :o
That flat i am renting for now has secure parking so taking my 2.2, but i just do not have the time anymore for the project. It needs to go to someone who can get it finished before the end of the year, and currently it won't be me!.
Pictures and details are here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1186053656/0
Since then the oil cooler has been done. (gen Vaux)
Things to do:
Cambelt timing
Replacement gearbox (it makes a noise like a sewing machine, but changes gear perfectly smoothly, level is fine) I will also included a good known working AR25 with the sale.
Needs some lifter treatment on the tappets, which again i will include. I have some very strong stuff, that is not available to the general public, along with some engine flush treatment.
LPG needs to be sorted out and hooked up to LPG reader, to re-adjust the idle.
All the tyres have excellent tread, body work has no rust, few little scrapes here and there but they have been touched up. Full working Bose.
I am not looking to make a profit on this, just what little i have invested in it. Its tax'ed till the end of next month, but the mot has expired.
Easily worth 3k+ when working, i just do not have the time anymore with the job and SWMBO!
Would anyone be intested? (offers by PM)

Doesn't look like it :(

As mentioned, I know the LPG system is only a mixer, but if you are prepared to sell it seperately, and cheap enough, then I'll put a bid in :y

hummm bugger, looks like am in this for the long haul :'(
Right, well might take you up on that James. I formulated a cunning plan on the way home....
Fit standard bagpipes, junk the awful lpg modified ones, which are a royal PITA to fit.
Get it running nicely on petrol, get the cam timing sorted.... (James ;))
Spank the nuts off it with some lifter treatment in there to and from London a few times (i will be returning at weekends, and then there is SWMBO in Surrey)
Get it purring on petrol, and sell.
Sell the LPG kit to James at a very reduced rate....
I'll still turn a profit, a slim one, bit still better than a loss!
-
Tunnie - I've found my locking kit, you are of course welcome to borrow :y

I'd stick with SGI

LOL
If you can strip down to belt, I can check/adjust timing....
Bagpipes out
Loosen waterpump/pas/crank pulley bolts
Aux belt off
SAI pipes off
Remove above pulleys
cable tray off
aux tensioner off
cambelt cover off
Refit is reverse as Haynes likes to say.

Free to Good home? I'm sure he'll want SOMETHING for it ;)
TBH, I was thinking more about the tank and valve, than the frontend kit...

Depends on how old the tank is
In all seriousness... My bid would be around the hundred quid mark... I only really want it for the tank, filler, and valve.
-
it all depends how much i can sell the Elite for without the lpg kit installed.... if i can break even then its yours for silly money James....
-
All of it say £100 - £150 provided the tank has a few years left (and the pressure certificate is supplied).
Tanks require testing every 15 years, easier to replace normally

Cool... I'll make Tunnie an offer by PM :y

Lets look at it logically - if you are not keeping it, I would proceed as follows:
Inc the replacement gearbox, the car owes you just shy of £1400 (I'm sure you've made that public)
The car needs an MOT
The next steps, are to get the car running well on petrol. Sod the LPG (for now) if you are not keeping, just get some good fitting bagpipes on there I have some) and get it running right. In that state, with an MOT, you will easily sell it for £1500.
If that sounds good, I'll give you £150 for the entire LPG kit, and I'll change your gearbox for free at the same time, to increase resale value...
-
New tanks are over £200 I think and this has all the bits.
But Tunnie - where is the filler if it is in the rear quarter you will not sell the car with no LPG system
-
I'd sell the mixer front end and put it towards an SGI system
