Title: How do I disconnect this?
Post by: Nickbat on 05 August 2007, 10:19:06
OK, making good progress on the 2.6 cambelt change, but have got held up by the smallest of things. I cannot fathom out how to disconnect the MAF sensor cable. It is the strangest looking connector I've seen and although I've squeezed it all round, and tugged at it, I cannot figure it out. Don't want to break it. Anyone help?

Gonna have a cuppa now, and have another think

I had trouble with a connector on my throttle body, is it similar to the one under 'Maintenance Guides' http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1162397695

I know this is for a 2.2 throttle body, but I just wondered if it helped.

Similar, but not exactly the same. If I get a chance I'll take a photo at some point (if I don't throw a match to car before then >:().

 Hi Nick,
This clip, does it look like a bent paper-clip wich sticks out of each side of the connector like wings? if so then i think your supposed to push both the wings in fully until you can pull the connector apart, although on mine it still wouldn't disengage so i just pulled the clip right off, pulled the connector apart and refitted the clip.

 Hope this helps,
                       Pete :y.

Pete, I know the one you mean, but it's not that. I'll try and get a piccie (only got the mobile phone camera at the moment, though).

Cheers
