Title: Vauxhall Sintra,Bad Oil Leak

Hi,a friend of mine called round this morning,upon him leaving noticed a big oil patch on the road,anyway been to his to look  at it and it's loosing oil from a joint just above the oil filter,car is a '98 2.2 petrol,question is

is the oil filter housing part of the pump or can it be removed separately?

They normaly have an oil to water heat exchanger between the oil filtr and oil pump....so check the seals carefuly.

Sorted it.if you remove the oil filter,then unscrew the thread the filter screws on it reveals a allen bolt,undo that and it separates,inbetween the two sections is a rubber O ring which had a split,replaced ,rebuilt and cured,cost of O ring...£1.50 and in stock!
