Hi,
Could anyone be kind enough to advise me on the correct spark plugs for a yr 2000 3.0l
The local Vauxhall agent didn't have a clue, :-[offering 2 or 4 electrode plugs.
I settled for the 4 electrode as a guess, type 12 14 011. Will these be ok? i'm off to France at the end of the month for a 3000 mile tour, and don't want to get it wrong.
Oh, and what should the gaps be?
Thanks.

4 electrodes are ok, twins are the norm p/n 9195109, and they are all factory set gaps, no need for gapping ;)
-
Generally the twins are used on older type engine. Only difference is life, quads are 80k, twins are 40k (not that you should use them for that long).

And as said, no need to gap, they are preset

Blimey,
That was a quick reply, i wasn't expecting anything 'till tomorrow.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
Whilst on the subject of spark plugs, can anyone tell me the Torque setting for a 96 3.0L V6.
Not in the Haynes manual as far as i can see >:(.
Many thanks,
Pete :y.

Again whilst on the subject of spark plugs i'm in the process of changing mine for a new set of Genuine GMs, but when i took the 1 3 5 plugs out they were NGKs(twin Electrode)in what looks like new condition.
If the other three are the same and i assume they should be, would anyone like them for Postage only as it seems a shame to through them or put them in my tool box never to see the light of day again :(.
PM me if required,
Pete :y.

Hi Peter, just changed mine - 4 electrode ones - from the previous VX stealers service - they torqued it at 28Nm according to my torque wrench - or hand tight plus a 1/4 turn - well that was how they were done on mine anyway, hope that helps

Thanks Lee,
Hand tight and a bit is how i've always done it on previous cars but on the Meega just wanted to do it right :).
