Title: Power/Fuel drop
Post by: Erthe on 09 August 2007, 09:08:47
Ok, a strange one for me but I am sure that someone out there will have a suggestion  :-/

There is one bend on my way to work where I slow down from 60mph to about 20 for a tight left hand bend. Recently my miggy has started to drop power as I am coming round the bend. It is as if she is starved of full fuel for about a second and then she picks up as normal and all is well again. This happens nearly every time I take that bend and I have never noticed it at any other time.

Yes, there is plenty of fuel in her (not running on fumes)
It was suggested that it may be a clogged up fuel filter...I put a new one on yesterday but it still happened this morning on my way into work. (The "How to" made it so easy  :y :y)

any suggestions?

Dave

Could be crud inside tank blocking fuel pick up pipe to pump.

Have you checked the pump pipes at the tank, to make sure that they are not perishing/leaking???? I mean via the access hole in the boot via a round removable panel ;)

Thx guys, I have checked the pump pipes and all seems as it should be.  :y
If it is crud in the tank, what options do I have? what is the easiest way to resolve this?

with these suggestions of crud in the tank or leaky pipes.. wouldnt the fuel/power drop be evident at different speeds? not just on this one bend?
