As in the title really running out of options, intermittent starts from cold its really lumpy.
So far I have cleaned the throttle body and Idle Control Valve checked the breathers, I have also checked the plug wells and they are all dry so the lead ends are fine.
I have done the paperclip test and there is one code 0100 which is the MAF sensor but this code I think is from when I left the connector off by mistake after the Throttlebody and ICV clean.
I have read in places it could be the egr valve having a hissy fit can these be blanked or is it a replacement job.
Any Ideas would be much appreciated :y

have heard these can be blanked off but i replaced mine, had same type of problem at one point it sorted it. don't know how to blank them off but would be better if you could replace as then it'll keep engine as should be!

I think I may have a go at blanking it 1st as funds are tight but if that solves the problem then its a trip to vx to have my wallet emptied been looking and they are about £120 from ebay sellers so vx will probably be more :-/

The MAF code should disappear soon if it was simply that you'd left it off.
However, I think you have an airleak somewhere, hence why its throwing the MAF code.

I had a leak from the ICV joint so I took the air intake off the other night to get at the ICV to re tighten the icv to the throttle body put everything back but forgot to reconnect the maf connector before restart like an idiot so shall see how it goes, all the jubilee clips I have double checked are nice and tight so hopefully its not leaking.
Give it 20 good starts and hopefully the code shall go, shall be re doing the test next weekend so hopefully it will have gone by then.
My main worry is the lumpiness at start up it doesn't do it all the time but its something to worry about.
The car itself runs fine tickover is steady and i'm getting pretty good mileage now that i'm doing 30mile a day for work
instead of 5 mile a day with my last job.
