Title: Stainless exhaust.
Post by: Big Rod on 13 September 2006, 11:42:58
I can hear the baffles in the back box of my 3.2 MV6 estate starting to rattle.

Any ideas if there's a good stainless replacement system available?

Feel free to move this if you deem it in the wrong place.

TIA!

Custom made stainless system is prob the best way to go.

They will tune the noise to your taste and it cost roughly the same as a Vxl system but has longer life  :)

I currently have a blueflame SS system which has been really good so far in terms of looks manufacturing quality and noise. It was 325GBP with lifetime warranty. The design is similar to the bastuck exhaust and sllightly better. But again they can fabricate whatever you ask them. I had some pictures on the other site.

http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/jetex_exhausts_chooser.php?mak=Vauxhall&mod=Omega+94-99&mat=Stainless+Steel

I cant rate these systems highly enough, they have a non-offensive burble at idle, and deep roar at full-chat.

The build quality is spot on, and all pipes are mandrel bent.

Very nice, but at just under £500 I was a little startled!! Will bear it in mind though""

other than irmscher, is there a supplier who can do the split exhaust - where the tail pipes are on opposite sides of the car (not together)? ive got a space under the rear bumper for this i think.

Anyone who makes the exhaust to spec can make the duplex exit, ie both sides. The extra expense will  no doubt be in the extra back box that this set up will create. I was recently quoted £300 - 350 for a stainless cat back system with twin tail pipe, ie one box, but I can't compare this to other prices. This entailed a y-piece from the cats and a bigger bore single pipe to the back box. Whatever you decide, please let us know.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

the trouble with the irmy twin exit exhaust is that then you either need to buy the replacement rear bumper to go with it or get busy with a hacksaw!

If your having the zorst custom made it could be possible to have an extended tailpipe from the one backbox to keep the costs down
