I have just looked at the guide and it mentions degreaser can any one recommend a specific type as I am planning to blank mine of for the time being but if it can be cleaned I will give it ago.

I'm hoping this will help to resolve the lumpyness on start up as I think I have covered most that been recommended in other threads.

Any Help on this would be grately appreciated.

clean the carbon out with paint stripper (oven cleaner is the same stuff, but free from under the sink)

If you are blanking off with a flat plate then add a little sealant on the manifold side.....it is a source of air leak into the plennum.

 Thanks AA,
I had seen the guide for the 2.2 but not sure if it's different to the V6 type :y.

Carb cleaner will clean out the intake side and spindle but if the seat and valve head are carboned up then some paint stripper and a toothbrush works wonders
