Post by: dbug on 21 August 2007, 15:28:22
Just about to replace worn front suspension drop links.  Looks so simple thought there may be a catch!!  Is there??

No....just be aware that if jacking the car on one side to do this that there will be stress on the joint so watch your fingers.

Thanx-did it this afternoon - ½ hr each side - no problems with fingers links dropped out once i sussed what to jack.  Initally jacked at jacking point using trolley jack, bit of effort to unscrew nuts, then tried to release drop links incl big hammer.  Then blocked body, removed jack & jacked under lower wishbone (about 2") when links just "fell" out. Bolted new ones on - has cured "knocking" noises on rough roads + slight wheel wobble under braking 50-60 mph.  Good result for £20 off ebay + 1 hrs work!!
