Sorted.     Took the car back to the latest garage, explained problem, wheels checked, they were all out,
the machine was recalabrated there and then, all wheels rebalanced down to 1 gram then rechecked again, the manager gave many apologies for causing the problem but thanked me for reporting it.
I now have the car ride the old Omega Elite was always noted for with no ride vibrations.
It had to be wheel balance, perseverance won out.

Omega is fussy on balancing, and some shops only balance down to 10g
