Great bargain for a £10, is there a difference in the cabling on the stalk with the facelift? If I can get cruise on mine (02 CD dti) for a simular price, I would be well happy  :y

Sorry missed your PM omegaman  :-[ Been in and out all the time but great news you've got it done. It IS one of the best mods around  :y

Tell you what, to any of you omega drivers that tow with your cars, this makes SUCH a difference! Hills are not a problem at all and bizarrely, it seems to give the car more power! I guess not, but it isn't quite so tiresome on long journeys. Top job!

When I said "looks like new" thats what i assume it is, sealed in plastic, in the box, I am just surprised that I would get one (new?) for that price, either way I have now got cruise at a bargin price, no pedal switches or "real" tech2 work needed.  :y

Interesting  :-? No tech 2 required!

Where did you get the stalk from alan? Tis quite a nice feeling when you get a new 'toy' to play with  ;D

I love The Boy, ever the optimist! :D

From this ebay shop:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/vauxhallpartsuk

i could have waited or looked for secondhand items, but could not wait.  It seems that all the diesel cars have cruise enabled?  :)

2.5TD is enabled - or rather there is no setting (on a 2.5TD the ecu actually constantly stores an error that the stalk is missing on non cruise cars).

The 2.0DTi/2.2DTi - not done on Omega, but have on other cars such as Astra-G/Zaffy etc, and had to enable...

I'll have to see if M_DTM has done a 2.2DTi Omega yet.

You can't just say they don't last!  ;D

It depends how they're used! I know a bloke who has cruise fitted in his 2000 3.0 Estate, done 35k and he's never switched the cruise on!

My second hand stalk has lasted 2 years, it's shiny, barely any writing but it works ok!

We'll see!

VX got a bit protective when asked to fit the cruise on ours. Came back and said they couldn't do it. Thought i'd try it meself one day, bingo, plug and play! Thought they had enabled it at the garage though!?!

I foolishly bought a 2nd hand one for my CD, it now doesnt always (about 90% of the time) cancel the indicator on a left turn.......never had a prob with full beam tho....

When i get round to it i will replace with new this time  :y

Got mine for £30 from Ronnies mate Nigel about 3yrs ago - thats for all the bits needed (non DBW engines need the ecu/actuator under bonnet).  The stalk obviously didn't last, nor did the 2 ebay replacements. The new one from dealer is much better ;)

The 2.2 is a drive by wire engine, so all you need is the stalk and to get cruise control enabled using a Tech 2.

Bear in mind there are a couple of different stalks. The one you want has 4 wires leading to a little 4 pin square connector. If you look in the howtos I think there is a post giving the part numbers for facelift cruise control upgrade.

All Omega cruise stalks are the same 4 wire one with the exception of the 2.5TD BMW engine, which needs the 2 wire variant.
