Hi Guys,
Does anyone know for sure what gearbox oil the 2.5 manual uses?
If so, could you tell me the part no please so I can buy some?
Cheers

Morning James
The last stuff I bought was part No V0093165290 at £4.04 per litre.
-
Rings a bell.. is that the VX recommended one for the manual omega gearbox?
-
I asked for gearbox oil for the manual box and told the parts chappie that I wanted to flush the gearbox so he sold me 3 litres of this stuff.
-
I seem to rememnber Haynes says there are three types depending on age (and sounds pretty sensitive to using the right one/flushing/not mixing etc) - but your facelift is newer than Haynes deals with, so I guess it would be the latest one or something even more recent..
Is it worth doing manual gearbox oil change? I've not done mine - what benefit did you get Pete?
-
Smoother changes, prolonged longevity...
-
TBH Ian the stuff that came out was a clean as the new stuff and I only changed it because the car was new to me so ive not noticed any difference.

I haven't changed the box oil on my Omega but when I had my BMW's "lifetime fill" gearbox oil changed I found the same thing -- the old stuff was exactly the same colour and consistency as the new stuff! Which suggests to me it doesn't actually need changed.
Manual gearboxes don't seem to place anywhere near as much stress on the oil as slushboxes do,
-
the oil in a slushbox actually moves the car, in a manual "merely" lubricates it.

Yeah I know... that's where half your power goes in keeping that oil hot ;)
