Title: Warning light question
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 12 September 2007, 18:21:36
Hi Guys,

Forgive this question. I REALLY should know better, but cut me some slack, as this is the first faclift I have ever owned.

My questions are:

1) There are two lights on the dash, one with a picture of an engine, and one with a picture of a car with a spanner. Which one is the engine management light, and which one is emissions light?

2) The picture of a car and spanner never lights up, even when just ignition is on. Is this OK - or has bulb blown?

(Would I have an emissions light on a 2000 CDX?)

I'm also getting a fault code for "management light low voltage" or simelar...

Bulb gone there James, time to smuggle the butter knifes out of the kitchen.
Just don't get caught.  ;)

So let me get this straight, the spanner and the car is the emissions light?

And the 2.5 W reg SHOULD have an emissions light?

Not sure a 2.5 has the twin lights...

OK video time, if it works

So the emissions light doesn't come on.
Looks like your bulb has been pinched James. I haven't done a paperclip but on the Tech2 it's not showing up as a fault, MDTM checked at Newent.
The manual I sent you has been changed from the 2000 MY both lights are described as "Engine electronics, immobiliser" and says one OR the other and that it lights up on ignition on and goes out on starting.
