Hi, I've been reading up on the breather clean using these 2 excellent guides as my major source, as they seem way better than Mr Haynes' efforts !
plenum removal - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1159298765
breather cleaning - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152598350
I think I've worked out what I need and would just appreciate any other tips/hints as this is the first time I've done it ! - and have I missed anything ?
Engine is X25XE
Breather Bridge to Plenum - Seal - 1 - p/n 90467543
Breather Bridge to Throttle - O rings - 2 - p/n 90500983
Plenum - O rings - 6 - p/n ??
Throttle Body - Gasket - 1 - p/n ??
and finally (not !) how does Mr RMcB reckon it only takes 5 minutes to remove the plenum ?? it took me 10 minutes just to read it !! - seriously .. many thanks for the guides :)

I did mine last week following the same guides and it's pretty straightforward, however, word of warning from my own experience, the threads in the bolt holes are very weak and I accidentally stripped the thread of the breather bridge as the torque required is very low. Just beware of this because its so easy to do

Throttle Body to plenum gaskets, 2 required, not 1.

Thanks for that .. shopping list amended :)
and as the low range torque wrench arrived in bits .. literally ... (it's already gone back and a replacement is being sent) I'll have plenty of time to get these bits ..
-
And dont worry about the 6 plenum O rings, yet to see them need replacing.

Oh, I have, a few times... ...they seem to go hard.
(I'm talking about the black ones, not the orange/red ones further down?)

Well .. as once I start this job I have no wheels .. methinks for the price of 6 o-rings I might as well have them handy .. be a bugger if I need one and don't have it !!
Thanks for the advice .. shopping tomorrow :), and this job is back on the list for when the new torque wrench arrives ... thats 3 out of 4 jobs on hold .. the only one I can do is the brake fluid change, and no point in doing that before I change the discs and pads... might just have to do something else this weekend :) ...

Cleaning the breathers helps to reduce crankcase pressure and reduces the chance of that pressure being forced out at the weakest point, usually the cam covers. :y
Is that the guide that you needed? :-\
No problem with either the language or the age of the thread. :y :)
