Title: replacing exhaust system

anyone got experiance of changing exhaust parts themselves? is it hard to do and what tools would i need?

Really depends on what you wish to replace.

The U clamps can be a pain to undo, even if soaked with plusgas or wd40 for yonks before hand.  Budget to replace with new.

If from cats back, bolts between centre boxes and cats are normally totally rusted and best simply cut off and holes redrilled, replacing with straight through bolts.

I found it easier to remove the whole system from the car (cats back) then refit as a one piece.

Genuine VX parts on trade club are good, reasonable cheap as well, compared to Quick Fit etc.

soz i should have stated its the middle and back box i want to replace...i`m trying to avoid going to kwik fit or some place like that also give myself something to do and teach myself to do it at the same time...

Mid and back box is what we class as the Cats back, so just follow the guidence from the above reply ;)

definitely DIY jobbie.  Took me a couple of hours on a V6, your 2ltr should be a bit simpler

Recommend VX parts but only if you get TC discount
