Title: Fuel filter
Post by: LFF64 on 18 September 2007, 19:13:41
Evening all I decided to change the fuel filter today , picked up the filter remebered the clips unlike the parts man who did not charge me for them :y I found the filter on the car thought this looks easy enough. This is where it started to go wrong, The Boy suggested how to get the clips off so I tried for ages eventually managed to get the outlet side off. How awkward are they to do >:( the inlet side wolud not release at all i managed to break the clip but it still would not release. Now the real problem the plastic angled  connector has snapped off where the plastic pipe joins on . On inspection the metal part of the filter has corrosion on it and was hold the plastic to it so no way it would have come off . Question is can I buy the connector on its own or is it complete with the pipe which I guess it is as it appears to be heat shrunk together. Also where does it go to is the other end under the access plate in the boot. I have managed to use a short bit of pipe to join the pipe to the filter for now but not happy to leave it like this too long
