Title: Dull headlights!!!!!!
Post by: VX1 on 18 September 2007, 19:00:26
Evenin all,
Well I gave my headlights a clean with 1200 grit wet an dry as suggested on here a few times and then gave them a polish. I have not seen anyone put the end results of there cleaning of there headlights so I thought I would. So here you go these pics are before I cleaned them and after.

If you look closely you can see that they are dull.

Yeah I know. I hate sneezing all the time, should clear my nose before I start doing anything like this  ;D ;D ;D ;D.
Seriuosly though I upgraded the front and rear bumpers from a cd car. But now I need to wire them in as they don't work yet, wiring isn't at the fuse box  :(

Did you tried very fine polish with machine , seems like not totally polished ?

PS: Glass polishing is really hard job..I think necessary more work.

There are better than before but as you say need abit more work doing. I used T cut but I do have some GS27 in the garage so might use that next time.

I recently installed brand new fog lights, and that made the old head lights look awful in comparison. I wet sanded with 2400 grit, then with 4000grit and finally polished with Meguiars ScratchX (should have used PlastX but didn't care). The lenses look almost like new.
