Title: Here is a good number for the rubber covers to the
Post by: DaveL on 19 September 2007, 14:01:50
Just been carrying out an investigation into alight misfire on my facelift MY2000 2.2 4 pot. The usual suspect was confirmed, leaking oil from the rocker cover to the plug wells. Found that the rubber boots going over the spark plugs from the dis pack where also breaking down. Understood from other posts that you cannot get the boots separately.

'Oh contra Rodney', Vx now do a kit containing the 4 springs connecting the dis pack to spark plugs. The four rubber boots and the two rubber seals at the bottom of the dis pack to cylinder head. The part number is 9195820 and is called Kit-parts*t  cost of £13.22 inc vat without TC.

This might help others with similar problems as the rubbers do crack and break down with heat.

I wonder if an Astra might eventually suffer the same problem? I wouldn't mind betting that the boots might fit other Vauxhall 4 pot engines.  :y

Pleasing to know these are now available seperately!

Camcover gasket failure is more common on the V6 models, than the 4 pots, though..

Checked with my local friendly dealer, unfortunately VX do not (as yet) do the kit for V6 but I am sure that may change later on. As to other VX models, that the kit may fit, it would be a case of asking about it at the dealers.
