Hi all
Just looked at a 2.5 TD 105k the guy said he hd a problem with the box 6 months ago losing drive, and took it in to an auto trans specialist who said it was just low fluid, topped it up and all was well as it hadn't over heated ?
Does this sound right :question

Even if it is, that box will fail soon.

Its 1 owner cdx td 's' reg oil change every 5k is it worth 800 quid do you think :question

Pick up an AR35 for around £100 - £150, spend a day swearing whilst you bolt it on, and it will be an good'un.
Once you've fitted the AR35, contact Omegatoy for a chip, it becomes much more drivable, and more economical!

I have a good AR35, drives perfect.. I drove it over 250 miles.

Make sure it starts on the button. Having to crank it is not a good sign.

Just curious.
The TD isn't particularly quick (standard) or economical (standard) unless on motorway runs. If you are doing a lot of town driving, you may well be disappointed with MPG...

I honestly find the MPG pretty poor all the time!
If I drive around town for a week or so, my average will be about 20ish. On a good sensible run I might fetch 40 at a push - more often around 35ish
If I had another omega, going by what I have read on this forum, I would go for a petrol V6. Definitely.

day to day in mine, I seem to average around 37ish - thats with the cracked head. Same journeys in my 3.0l v6 I average 24/25 ish. Both autos, but I know which is more fun [smiley=evil.gif]

Blimey, thats pretty good, maybe i was being a bit harsh with 20mpg its prob more than that. Just checked my avg. and it is 33.4 mpg thats over about a month of mixed driving. Mines a manual as well so i though it would be less thirsty!

Although my day to day journey is not great, its not bad economy wise, hence averaging 25 from MV6... ...I live in small town, so don't do too much town driving without a run to get to one...

I make my own biodiesel works out at 30p per litre, so for me there is a big difference between petrol and diesel :y

Proper biodiesel is not normally so troublesome - it's WVO And SVO that cause probs in this engine...

Yes it has to be an auto I damaged my left ankle when leaving my 1200 Bandit at high speed :'(
I aim to chip it and then put the stronger box in if and when it blows
The pump is fine for Bio diesel, some people even run SVO

shame you have to have an auto but if you must then def fit the ar35 and chip the car its a world away from a standard one, mpg improves as does performance,
usually bombproof engines but neglected ones can fail in a big way, although the recomended oil change is 4.5k when chipped do it around 3k and ignore what the book says about the oil grade just use the vxhalll semi 10w40, when you first get it do an oil flush using proper gear not the local accesory shop stuff, do same with radiator an you should be good to go!! :y any specific questions just pm me mate

I love the Omega!!!! always did even when the senn was current, its just that damn
high maintenance v6 im not keen on I think it spoilt a good car(flame suit on) or shall i just get me coat? ;D

You know that v6 is better than the straight six - for one thing, the cylinder heads only weight half as much on the V6 :P
