Right I am really thinking of changing my LPG front end from a mixer system to an injection system instead.
Since i have the tank already in and all the coper pipe and wires how hard do you think it would be to swap over the mixer system?
I want somthing like a Crashed Omega or Vectra to swap out the front end system, James Vectra would of been great for this as i think its the same engine as my 4 pot just smaller.
Thanks

Hi Craig,
You could do just that, would i have the same inlet manifold? Also if you did do the work i would have thought it'd need another LPGA certificate, not too difficult but may cost 50 notes.
From memory you will need...
Pressure reducer, inc shut off solenoid.
Evaporator.
Gas sensor, usually inline or maybe built into the evaporator.
Injector rail and nozzles into the manifold.
Injector based LPG ECU.
TBH i would contact an LPGA suplier and buy the stuff new as you'll be sure it all works and it'l; have a warranty. You are 3rd of the way through as you have the tank in, so no need to buy that. The tanks cost around £200 notes alone. Also not forgetting you will have an installation manual! I wouldn't like to do mine blind 8-)
Is yours a 4 pot or a V6? as i'm sure Vx never released a MV6 4pot.
Cheers

I have changed my profile as the MV6 leather was confusing people.
Nope mine is a 4 Pot with MV6 Leather Seats.
Hummm i think before I go down the route of changing it as i am short of cash I think ill let the LPG Guys have a look at mine system first to see if they can tune it better, I am getting great MPG but missing a little bit of Umph on Gas to petrol with a mixer system.

Dont think it would m8......lpg ecu on the veccy was more involved than aftermarket ecu's....it had two thick wiring looms going to it, just like the engine ecu.....be a bit complicated trying to fit one of those to your omega i woulda thought.

Owhahaa i didn't know it was from a factory GM installed LPG car, in that case i wouldn't either!

I agree with Taxi Driver, however, I would use the word impossible.
The Vectra LPG factory install was very complicated, in fact so integrated, that when running on gas, the fuel gauge would read for both fuels.
It was a very GOOD system, but if you ask me, never worth trying to remove from a Z18XE and fit to an X20XE !
Ebay it, for an SGI front end kit - about £410 for your car...
Also sod the LPG cert, if you already have one, and it satisfies insurance, I wouldn't worry about it!
-
Ebay kit - just the front end - you will need to drill your manifold
-
Oh and SGI has no emulator - it intercepts the injection pulses instead

No Injection Emulator Eh Well I guess that will be one less box stuffed under the bonnet or Scuttle.
If I went ahead with this I would get hold of a spare manifold and do the drilling on that instead of knacking mine and being without the car

Good idea, the ECU will probably be bigger though
