Title: MV6 Problems
Post by: volcanezx on 09 October 2007, 09:02:21
Just bought an ex police MV6 estate, everything was fine fans came on shortly after 90 and cooled it down till about 87 or so. On sunday I was out and noticed the fans didn't come on when parked but made sure not to boil the car.  I bought the car for diffing and drifting can anyone tell me where the thermostate is so i can remove it and also how i can wire the fans up via a switch or get the fans to come on earlier. I've only done 200 miles in the car when i bought it i made sure there was no big pressure in the water bottle and there wasn't now however it seems that there is pressure in it can ANYONE HELP?????

I wouldn't remove the termostat either. That won't help and it's a nightmare to get to.

Sounds like you might have a dodgy fan switch, blown fuse in the engine bay fuse box or possibly a dodgy fan relay.

The cooling system should pressurise due to the expansion of the water, so that's OK.

The fan temp switches are in the rad.
