Title: One more question! I'm sorry! (airbag light)
Post by: GastronomicKleptomaniac on 11 October 2007, 23:26:39
 Ey up

Only problem I've got with the car is the airbag light... dealer reckoned it was cos the battery was flat. Do I assume it means the airbag will not work... and that I should take it to a dealer to get reset, rather than finding a local Tech2'd mechanic?

Regards
Pete

Once the light is on the system is disabled and it needs a Tech 2 to reset (cheapo Tech 2 can apparently do it too). It will cost you less to get one of our Tech 2 gurus to do it.

Agree^^^ but, providing you have a suitable lap top, it's cheaper to buy a 'cheapo Tech II' and reset it yourself, than it is to have the light reset at your robbing friendly dealer.

Ah, being in Teesside, it's quite a way from... civilisation, really... ;) - who's the nearest?

My 'Cheapo TechII' is closer than that! If it's just a reset I can do it (Can't it Kris! :y )

If anyone has a cheapo nearer, shout up!  Cheapo, whilst far from perfect, should be able to reset most airbags (not that I'd be sat in drivers seat when reseting it!)

LOL.  I put laptop on bonnet when using cheapo on SRS.  I'm just a whimp. I don't trust the software.

Alright then, who's willing to either come to Teesside, or meet me halfway (I'll pay their petrol too, of course)?

Regards
