I replaced my crank sensor the other day to solve the problem of the car cutting out, which it seems to have done. The light has come on a couple of times since though so I thought I'd do a paperclip test. It came up with the following codes 12 (x3), 89 (x3) and 31 (x3). Now I think 12 is the test start and 31 is engine not running but what is 89?
Many thanks. :)

Oh and the 31 code disappears when I do the test with the engine running.

OK, I've found a resource which tells me it's an Oxygen Sensor Heater low voltage code. Does this mean the lambda is shagged? There is a different code if it is reading no signal but I'm getting the low voltage one?

Faulty heater in the lambda sensor or a bad connection somewhere.

Well, I've just done a return trip from Bristol to Cardiff airport to pick up the girlfriend and it ran fine. Not one flash of the EML and returned good consumption. Is this something that could cause me proper grief or should I turn a blind eye?
