After advise yesterday I checked the centre console air vent to establish if the temperature sampler was working.Despite placing a tissue across the grille ther was no suction created which would seem to indicate the fan is not spinning..is there a fuse that may have gone or is it more complicated as looking at the "how to" section posted for removal of center console it seems that it is all circuit board...or do they just stick and a sharp blast on compressed air or similar will release...any advise greatly received

Having been looking at the same problem on mine, I can confirm that it is actualy the drive circuit mounted on the main PCB that fails.
I plan to fit a small computer fan in its place to do the same job (probably with some series R to reduce the speed)
