Hi,
The revs on my Omega have been running high (just above 1000) at traffic lights for a few days and today the revs have started to drop, causing the car to stall. It's a 2L R reg CDR.
Any ideas please?
Dave.

2.0l four pot?
Sounds like the same problem i had with my Vectra.
Idle Control Valve. Pretty common fault on the Vectra, no reason why the Omega should be any different.
You can clean it out, but replacement is a better bet. A 10 minute job. :y

Try cleaning it out + all the breathers. Remember to fit new gaskets.

Seeing as we're getting so many of these 2.0L stalling problems,
I've done a detailed 'How To' with loads of Pics, to help you and anyone
else sort out your Breathers and IACV.
Photobucket is down for maintenance, at the moment, as soon as
it's up and running, watch this space.
Would a site moderator please move it to the 'How To' section when
I can get it uploaded, if you regard it as worthy enough.
Don't know when that will be, depends on when Photobucket gets
its finger out.

Email me the pictures and I will host them on our photo server for you.

Thanks, Marks DTM Calib.
Photobucket came good, so I'd already uploaded before I read your offer.
'How To' is now posted if anyone with problems wants to have read.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions.
There aren't any stupid questions, just stupid people who will not ask
questions. :)

:y Top work, will save a lot of troubles, and probably a lot of people's 'hard-earned' needlessly/fruitlessly replacing IACVs.
