Next version of my Opel Autoscanner software gets a improved interface.
And a 'Can' version should be available soon?
Couple of screen shots of the new look

Looks very clear and easy to use.
Is this one you've bought, or one you're designing?
-
It's one I bought - it's done all I want saved me beer money.
It's not a Ebay cheapo tech 2. I get software updates via the web.

Hi,
So, is this better than the tech2?
How much does it cost and does it have to be used with a laptop with a serial port?
Matt ;)

I don't think anything is better than TechII, after all that's the true diagnostic and test tool for all late 90's onwards Vauxhalls, however, from what i've seen and read I think Opel Scan is the next best thing.
It costs about £280 for the base version IIRC but considering what it can do, the fact it's got lifetime updates and the fact it can perform a lot of the functions on older Vauxhalls as well (Where you would otherwise have to buy a Tech I) then I think it actually works out good value. It really depends on how much you use it TBH, if you've got a Vauxhall then it should pay for itself pretty quick!!!!
The £30 models on eBay are ok for resetting the EML codes but after that they are a bit limited - Some issues may need you to record live data or test various components and this is where the cheaper models don't stand a chance against Opel Scan (i'll stand by to be flamed now!!!!!)

The above is about right. The best tool for the VX is the genuine Tech 2 . Mine work with usb to serial converter but is not one made Far East. Also works with a PCMCIA Serial card

I've been flirting with buying the Opelscan for a little while now, but just waiting for the CanBus version to come out.
Doea anyone actually have one?

Thanks Iggy, do you have a link to the product somewhere?

That's promising, I've actually just bought a PCMCIA to RS232 port adaptor (this one:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260134047813&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:UK:31)
