Title: THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR QUESTION
Post by: Radar on 04 November 2007, 16:51:25
Just had a Tech 2 done by TB (Big Thankyou!) - Problem diagnosed as New Throttle Actuator needed (box infront of pipe which houses the butterfly valve). Does anyone have an idea if this can be cleaned or do i need a new throttle body?

Comments appreciated!!

Its the electrical part (ie, feedback sensors) that seem to be playing up. Has anyone attempted to clean this part (looks to be sealed).

Thanks for info. Posted request on 1st choice.co.uk and so far been offered a  new one for £225 delivered from a firm in romford with 1 yr guarantee - Opions on the oem version vs original welcome!!

Just for others reading the part number is i believe as below:

9128518 (original in car now no longer made acc. to vauxhall), superceeded by 9196357

Vauxhall want £360 (or £270 with trade card).

Am considering new one as this is the first thing I will have bought for the car and intend keeping it for a while.

www.tradeclub.co.uk

username is the tc number on your card. Password should have been supplied, unless you went through ABS, in which case, drop me a PM with your TC number  :-X

Most dealers, even if a part isn't a Tradeclub item, give you std Trade Prices if you show them a tradeclub card.
