Hi again,
Still getting to grips with the new cdx - I am a little confused whether the stereo unit allows for a mobile phone? there appears to be what looks like a microphone by the rear view mirror - if there is do you insert your sim card somewhere, or is it simply for a car phone kit?
Secondly - the CD cassette - pretty convinced this is not working and I understand it only plays original cd's not copies - but is there a common fault that can be fixed? or is it a case of replacing the cd cassette?
If anyone could help I would be very grateful. :y
Best wishes
Chris

The CD player will play CD-Rs, don't think it can do CD-RWs (but don't quote me on that). Discussed in this topic - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1194499821

The connector for the phone should be taped to an air duct, above and forward of the glove box. All the connections you need are in the multi pin socket.
Depending on spec, the audio transformer to couple the phone kit speaker to the radio may be installed, it should just need connecting at the multi pin.
In my 2.6 there is a microphone in the interior light, but it is an active device and needs a power feed. I used the phone kit mic.

More info in your profile might help with question?
i.e year of car & radio type would help with your problem

CCR2006 doesn't have a phone built in, however some Omegas came prewired, the connector will be taped to the upper part of the glovebox, in order to find out you would have to remove the glovebox, not a very big job.
The interior light does have the mic grill there but no mic installed, i fitted a parrot kit into my Omega and used this instead of having a mic dotted around in the car, most car kits have enough flex on the mic to be able to do this
CD-R's, one thing that has been established on here is record the CD as slow as possible and used good quality CD-R's, this will improve your chances

As said, CCR2006 does not have built in phone (only CCRT2008 and NCDC2015 on facelifts), but may be prewired for a Nokia type aftermarket kit.

I have a similar question, when I started up my new Omega yesterday I heard what could only be described as a pre-recorded telephone announcement coming from the speakers (it was definitely not from the radio). So I wondered if I have a phone connection somewhere? Pic of dash/radio here -
