How hard is it to do the above?? and how hard is it to get it back in again..
Any advice much appreciated.

The rubber seal, or the scuttle panel beneath? (Or, in fact, are you talking interior?)
-
The rubber seal at the botton is easy, Just use a small flat bladed scewdriver & squeeze it between the seal & scuttle trim at one of the ends. Twis it & it should come free. It is a push fit & should pull free. Refitting just requires it to be lined up & pushed back into place. Simpler to replace really as these leak occasionally & allow watwe to go under the scuttle trim

The main external seal/trim, the one that goes around the top and down both sides all one piece.

Mine came off at one side when I was driving down the M4. It slapped against the drivers window - nearly jumped out of my skin! It proved very difficult to replace - would push in but came out again. In the end I glued it back Sikaflex.
Why do you want to remove it?

Funny you should be talking about that. I was thinking of having a look under mine, ever since the RAC man fitted a new windscreen I'm convinced I'm getting wind noise around the windscreen.
I don't think it's air getting in, just around the trim or something.
When th eRAC man removed the trim it needed an awful lot of tugging, and would have been in no fit state to go back on.
Can this be done nicely?

I want to remove it to seal the screen properly and to treat a small area of rust starting.
