Well had my new dunlop sp9000's on the front for about 2 weeks now (had Falken ZE 512 before) and car seems to drift about on uneven road surfaces worse than before really have to keep a tight rain on that steering wheel, I still have the ZE512's on the rear, could it be that the car is being pulled about by the rear Falkens ?, if car is driven on motorway or nice smooth tarmac roads then all is good, this car just feels unnerving to drive and need to resolve this issue or car is going to highest bidder or local canal ;D

Has the tracking been set up properly? Front and back.

Yes, had it set up by Tony at WIM, but due to go back to him soon for a third visit as he did say give the new tyres 2,000 miles and then get it back in ,so whether he'll find that tracking has drifted due to having new tyres on , I wouldn't have thought so myself but you never know, certainly not putting up with it for much longer as it is, even the wife's little R-reg clit is more of a pleasure to drive than this thing!

It must be a real pain to drive, had a Capri once that did that, never got to the bottom of it.

Cetainly is mate, thinking of chopping it in for something else maybe a Lexus or something ,annoying thing is i probably won't get much for it now as the depreciation has gone through the floor since owning it; this car has certainly put me off Vauxhalls good and proper!

I'm sure you've checked for the obvious, play, wheel bearings etc?
Tyre pressures? Tyres fitted correctly?

Hello mate as with alot of thinks that are new, your tyres will need a good few 100 miles on them to bed in, settle down to your car and driving style, this in my experiance is a commen problem, stick it out and drive steady and all should be fine.

Checked all the obvious all tight etc. underneath, as Brett says maybe give it a few more 100 miles and the further checkup with Tony at WIM and see what happens.

Had a very similar problem with new tyres and when i had it checked by my local vaux specalists the bushes on the lower arms on both near side and offside had play in them, i had both arms changed and it felt like a totally different car afterwards, before it was done it did not feel like i had direct control of the steering and the misses would not drive it as she was not comfortable with its twitchy handling, remember these are quite big wheels with quite a big car on them so with our lovely road surfaces that would appear date back to roman times the poor old little bushes take a hammering, and when the bushes are worn the new tyres with their stiff walls will effect handling dramatically. as all of a sudden the bushes need to do the work again.
Hope you get to the bottom of it, I would rather have the Omega than some of the other cars you mention !!! :-/

Bushes seem ok ,Vx and Tony at WIM have checked them and no significant play there as I have found myself, so on next check out at WIM it'll be interesting to see what Tony finds, but certainly a good point with regards to the bushes.

You could try swapping them front to rear.
I assume they have been fitted correctly with the direction correct (sp9000's are directional)

I have noticed my 2.2 has started to wander a bit on uneven roads......I have noticed the O/S front tyre is scuffing inside and outside edge....N/S front is scuffing inside edge only.
I know geometry wants setting up and is probably the cause of the scuffing on the inside edges, but im a bit suprised about the O/S front, scuffing both edges......usually means underinflation.....but they are pretty much 30PSI ....maybe drop 1 - 1.5PSI inbetween me checking them (unless the Halfords tyre inflator with digital gauge, i have, is miles off!)
Soooo im waiting until I get it MOT'd to see if something is worn causing the problem.....which i carnt do until (i think) until I get a new drivers window.....Sheet of perspex....taped in...is a fail i would have thought :-/

Just spoken to my mate who runs an MOT Test Centre. He says windows do not come under the test. Doors opening and closing are tested but if you'd welded them up, he would give an Advisory Notice, but would not fail the car.
As for the handling, it sounds like a visit to somone that can check and adjust the camber would answer a few questions.

swapping them might be worth a go and yes the dunlops are fitted in correct direction.

Thanks for that :y .....interesting......unless mot blokey claims sharp edges on the perspex....then it will fail....but edges are covered in tape :-/
Should get new window tues/wed.....so prolly better waiting until then for mot :y
