I return !! lol
just wondering that when you press the TC button on the car, should i notice a different "feel" to the car when driving it ?
i know its for Traction Control, but dont seem to feel any difference when its on
The Boy - you got any time FREE in the next week or 2 mate?
still want to sort this damn annoying heating problem out ;)
James V6CDX - still up for doing me Gear oil change?
-
Pressing the tc button turns Traction Control off!
-
i dont mean "press it"
when you turn the car on, it doesnt have the "TC" lit upon the dashboard where the speedo is
but when you press it, it comes on (obviously)
-
As dbug says pessing TC turns the traction control off, you should get a warning light on on your dash, you will really only notice a difference in the wet, without TC the car will wheelspin easily. ::)
-
so...
when i get in the car and start the car up
the car will NOT display the TC light on the dashboard where the speedo is?
but IF i press it, i get the TC light up on the dash... meaning its on ? is that correct?
-
No.
It's warning you that you've turned your Traction Control OFF.
-
When you press your TC switch a light comes on on your dash which means the Traction control has been disabled.
The Traction control always defaults to ON when you turn your ignition on, you have to manually turn it OFF using the switch, I think the idea is for if you get you car stuck in mud/snow you can disable the tc. ::)
Hope this helps :y

THANKS MATE, very difficult to explain what i mean when just typing! lol
cheers

Wayne? :)

CANT STAND SWEETCORN!! LOL ;D ;D

TC light means the TC is OFF. Very few occasions when you would need to turn it off..

Playtime?? 8-)

Easy to check this time of year. Find T junction. Stop at junction. Accelerate hard while turning right (or left it doesnt matter) from a standing start. You should see the TC light flash and the car will slow down. Do same again with TC button pressed, should get some jolly nice wheelspin and perhaps a 180 if you try hard enough ;-)

Trying to pull away from a snowy junction! TC doesn't always know best! >:(

I disagree. Either the 2 v6s I've had with TC had something wrong with them, or you have something wrong with yours, or you are not lifting off to release it a bit quick enough.
Last proper snow we had, it was the beemers around here going nowhere, mine was fine. And TC enabled, and snow mode on box.
And the MV6 is on 235 rubber, hardly ideal for icey conditions...

.......
I disagree. .......
This was one particular occasion. As you already know I hate the bloody thing ... on or off with nothing in between .... I was trying to turn right out onto the main road through the slush at the side of it, also going slightly up hill. I wasn't going anywhere fast or slow. TC had turned the loud pedal off to extent that my foot was all the way to the floor. You say I should've backed off ..... TC had poked its nose in at the start with next to f*** all throttle, I'd nothing to back off from. Turned TC off & I moved!!! Slipping & sliding but at least I was moving. There's too much reliance on electrical intervention in cars (....... ABS excluded! ) And Omegas are relatively numb compared to what's on offer in new cars, stability control, emergency brake assist etc etc

Thats why. User error ;)
Once the TC decides its no longer wheelspinning, as its stopped the spin (but cutting power), it stops cutting power. So you now have the full 200bhp, obvious wheelspin, TC cuts in all over again. Only it does it several times a second. Similar principle to ABS - cut the braking power until not on verge of skidding, reapply full braking power from pedal, start skidding again, cut braking power etc etc. Again, several times a sec.

Read further ...... ;) I'd already done that.
